Today was my last office day, to my knowledge. But I did some things here and there. the mission I had was to update the production guide by adding placing another listing into it. Given that being a simple task, I was finished rather quickly. I forgot to mention my actual day started off by going out to Farmington Hill with my mentor Stephani and got a few shots of Durango from Farmington Hill. That is when we made our way to the offices and I got my first mission of the day. Like I said, that process was quick. Plus I started at nine this morning! I hope that I have mentioned that office day tasks come at their leisure. So I can have an x amount of downtime which usually isn't much. I have usually done research on films and some pre planning for my LINK project. Oh on our way to Farmington Hill this morning, we had the conversation that Janae wants to happen between an intern and the mentor. It was brief but we got it out of the way. Has the internship dissuaded my from film? No. Well it's more or less dissuaded me from doing an office job, even though I can easily make the best from it. I know that I don't want an office job of any sort for film. But this internship has made me wanted to keep pursuing film. Especially when I worked with Rich and Matt. Now onto the next part which was really if I learned from the internship. Yeah I learned a lot when I got to work with the people I did. I learned some of the basics of Adobe Premiere with Matt at DurangoTV. I got to learn some neat stuff, especially with the OSMO and some neat things about Final Cut with Rich. In the offices, I got to learn how to use their photo copier, updating a production guide, working on a newsletter, and putting together a packet and stamping it through stamp machine.
So after that, I had some down time to think ahead on what I'll do with my project now. Especially with the footage I have in total. In total, I will guess that I have around twenty five minutes of footage to edit down into a video that will end up not being that long for the LINK exhibition I'll be in, especially that I'll only be given a few minutes to present some of my project and talk about my internship. Which I have no stress about whatsoever at this point. Which I am positive will remain the same throughout the course of me editing my project which I can't wait to see the end product!
So after I did my planning, I was given a few tasks to work on at my leisure. Shred paper, edit my intern bio in the newsletter, and hole punch some files and place them in tabs in a binder. I started off by shredding paper since it's somehow fun to me. I endured shredding, and recycling the shredded paper for two trips. Well I wouldn't say I endured, it was more or less that I enjoyed it. After that, I went to my next mission which was putting the documents such as minutes and other groups of paper into their respective binder tabs. Such as the website, marketing, board docs, and minutes tabs. I obviously hole punched them before putting them in. After that mission was complete I went on to my final mission while everyone was out on a board meeting at the fairgrounds I believe. My final mission was to touch up my bio. Which I needed to add the who, what, and how. I did the how, I just needed to add more on the who and what segments.
For the tweaks I did for my intern bio, I talked about my origins in film making which date back to when I was in seventh grade at Miller Middle School. Which is a very elaborate story of me showing my films to some of the classes I had in which some of those teacher took interest it seemed. So time went on and I got better at filming and editing. Then I got ahold of Final Cut Pro and everything just improved. Okay aside from that I tweaked my bio and finished all of my current missions. So I began doing research on films once again.
Once my mentor got back from the meeting at the fairgrounds, it turned out there wasn't much for me to do at the offices so I went home to work on editing my LINK project until I got my hours for the day from working. However, tomorrow I'll be at DurangoTV tomorrow at 9 A.M and I'm sort of spotty on what's going on tomorrow. But I'll be there until around three or four tomorrow. But on Friday, I know I'll be editing all day!
