So Today has been my third and last Tuesday of this internship! Okay, today was really sweet. So I got to work with Rich Fletcher again and I had a blast! So we were originally going to fly his Phantom drone and get some footage but that actually fell through since earlier day, Rich was working on a shoot and he was flying the drone and getting footage of a house and a massive gust of wind came in and blew his drone into a tree, which crashed it and it cracked the protective lens on the drone's camera. Now Rich showed me the footage of the crash and wow, it was pretty neat and crazy too see how fast the wind came in. So he tried to get the lens off but it was on there so we scrapped the whole drone flying fun. However, we still had the OSMO, which we took into town for a few hours and I got a lot of footage around the downtown area of Durango. When we were allowed to, I got to go and snag some footage of the train museum and the train station. The area that is past the whole ticket building. I think it is called the train yard. But I got some footage there. After that we went back to Rich's place and started putting the footage I got from the OSMO and the footage from the drone crash onto my flash drive. This took awhile so we went out to lunch and I asked some questions about potential places I could film my dystopian film. I primarily asked him about where I could find some places within Durango that looked run down, abandoned or just older but modern. I was pleased with what I was told. It's primarily alleys around Durango which I'd seen while walking around on my filming ventures around town. So once the footage transferring to my flash drive was done, I went home around two and imported the footage I shot into Final Cut and placed them into the project timeline I was using. All in all, the footage I had taken today amounted to roughly be around seventeen minutes! So I started rendering it until four. Which was the time I would call it a day. (Since I started at 10, and I would be going until 4) The rendering got to being fifty percent finished when I finished my day. But I plan to continue rendering it tomorrow or Friday! | This is the OSMO and the setup I had while filming. |
