honeyBee Project

Honey bees are important they can pollenate certain crops which have a great importance to Farmers and their agriculture which will come to sores, it's almost like a pry ramie, without the bees...well a lot would collapse. The reason we should be concerned about Homey Bees is more or less because without them, there'd be somewhat of a agricultural and food collapse. Farmers would go out of business, while their crops die which is only going to lead to a whole world of ugly.
research Summaries 1-3Summary One
There has been one practice of animals that has been studied very commonly. Dance. Honeybees are a type of organism that use dance as a way to communicate with each other as if it is a way to assist with navigation for other bees. The dance is somewhat of a way to plant a GPS into another bees head for it in order to know the location of a certain flower is in order to pollinate it. Summary Two The reason bees may dance may look rather mysterious if one is not to keen on what it's for, it may look like just a dance but it's really much more than it looks. The reason a bee will dance will be for the reason to communicate with others bees to inform them on where to find a flower or flowers to pollinate with. summary Three
Some might see a bee return to its hive, it could move into the hive or hover outside the hive where other bees would be. Whatever the circumstances, the bees should very likely perform a dance in front of the other bees. Now it may not look like much, but that bee is relaying where to find a patch of flowers, while giving certain patterns in how they do their dance. This dance will plot the coordinates into the other bees little brains and off they will go! Off to pollinate with the flowers to then find more and return to repeat the process to other bees. |
What I chose to focus on for my project was Bee navigation, which was rather interesting to me because the area I was really zoning in on was Dance, bees dance and it's somewhat a way to tell other bees where a certain patch of flowers are and the directions to take to get to the,.
What I ended up learning was that bees dance, not just for zero reasons at all, but when they do, it actually has a purpose which really fascinated me. For the all school exhibition, I produced a dance in which I was the human representation of a bee who would do a dance for other bees to give directions towards flowers. At the end of this project, I was very very proud of the turnout of my dance which was a fusion of choreography and breakdancing. Two dance styles I've fell in love with. If I could go back and do something differently, it would be to tweak my dance a little more but mostly to improve my summaries which I sincerely feel as if they could have been much better than they are. |
dissections
Project reflectionfor my dissection, I chose to do an alternative which was an artist representation of a dissection. What I chose to "dissect" was a Human or seen in the images, a Titan. However I chose to give draw the human anatomy within the Titan. The reason I chose to go this path was partially because of my Native Culture forbidding me to dissect pre requested specimens. however I was given the alternative to draw a human body in an artist's style that I really like.
Some of the things I learned about the human during this "dissection" was about what parts would be here and what parts would be there, or to have a much more detailed sense on what the Oral Cavity looked like. While doing this project, i had learn a thing about myself when it came to biology. So what I had learned about myself was that throughout the duration of this project, I had begun to take an interest in fusing Biology with Art which resulted in these "dissections" I showed passion for. |
Csi project (crime scene investigation)
Project reflection
This project started with being grouped into a pair with another person, after we were paired into our groups of two.; we finally received the crime scene we would be investigating. Then we would engage in our first crime scene activity, whether it be casting a tire track or finding a bullet's trajectory. When we finished either of those which was assigned to our crime scene, we would then write our first lab report. As soon as we finished that portion of the project, we would then move into doing another cime scene activity which was followed by another crime scene report as well. We would end up with a total of four reported each. Throughout all this, each partner would have an even amount of work to do. Eventually our suspects would be given to us. In each report, there'd be a conclusion along with a bit of info from the persons' of interest. When all tests were done, we would finally reach the conclusion of the case, where we caught the perpetrator or not.
The forensic science that I thought was the most interesting was the casting techniques for a tire track. The process itself was very fun and enjoyable to me. Since I was able to see take part in it and get hands on, it was somewhat messy but worth it. Placing the mold in the print to photographing and then later on retrieving the print for analysis. During this project I had my ups and downs, but in some areas I think I did well in the reports that I MANAGED to turn in, also taking part in the casting was something I'd done well on, more or best the best part of the project. There's so much I could've done better on this project, which is my fault. A fair sum of the project I just fudged it and was not really engaged, but what I feel could've been more helpful would have been if I'd been assigned a much better partner.

Crime Scene #3
Evidence being examined: Tire track Forensic Science used: Photograph Summary of the science: Before even laying any hands on the evidence, photographs should always be taken so they can be submitted to the lab for. Also photographing the general area that contains the impression evidence. Also it would be best to select a camera with a large negative format such as a 35mm or a 4x5 inch camera. Next, placing the camera on a tripod directly over the impression. Adjust the setup and camera height so the impression and scale fit the frame, use exposures that overlap to record any elongated expressions. Also use side lighting at various angles and various directions to illuminate any and all tread design more clearly. This could require shading the camera setup from high, bright sunlight with a makeshift tent and access to a detachable flash unit. Also fine grain black and white or colored film should be used, (EX.ISO 25, or less) is preferred. What specifically was learned from analysis of the evidence. Looking on looking at the crime scene there is a foot print and a tire track which seems to be leaving the scene, it can be determined that the possible perpetrator if any at all had smashed a rock into the victim’s head and leaving a brief trail behind showing that he or she was there and possibly wanting to vacate the scene as soon as possible. Conclusion: Based on the collection of the tire cast we have pinpointed that the vehicle was a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. This possible lead to the crime can be confirmed due to a small trace of what seems and looks to be blood on the rear behind the back left tire. Also the Cruiser traces back to one person of interest. Mary Perterson who is carried onto her husband John insurance as a driver of the 2007 FJ Cruiser and a 2000 Honda Civic (Which was not found) In addition, Ms. Peterson made a statement claiming that on September 21’st, she was at 3203 West 6th, playing bridge with some of her friends. She claims that she arrived at 3203 6th West at 4:30 PM and also claims she left the game of bridge at approximately 7:00 PM, driving directly home to Rafter J. At about 7:30, Ms. Peterson claims that’s when she got home, claiming that she did not drink while with her friends’. Ms. Peterson remains a person of interest due to the blood stain found on her Cruiser, and matching tire print at the scene. What also causes skepticism is that when she claims to not have drank, there was an alcohol bottle found near the body at the crime scene. But at this point, Ms. Mary Peterson is only a person of interest, no solid conclusions can be made; yet. Resources http://iape.org/emanual/footwear_and_tire_track_evidence.htm |
Crime Scene #3
Evidence Being Examined ; Fingerprints Forensic Science Used : Trace Evidence Summary of the Science : The first phase of identifying fingerprints starts with identifying the pattern and looking at the anatomic features. But we’d only need a magnifier 7x magnification. If we would want to go into more detail, we’ll use a stereo microscope which can gives us magnification up to 50x. This makes us able to detect any tiny pores along with their relative positions which are again quite unique. The stereo microscope reveals the contours friction ridges and any intermediate lines more clearly, however not everyone has these complete friction edges. The next phase which follows is the comparison phase in which we will look for any matches from the reference material that we will usually acquire from a database. The AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) contains more than Three Millions fingerprint cards which makes work easier. Concusion: At this point no solid conclusion can still be made, more analysis would have to be done in order to get any other persons' of interest.
