che project
For this project I had to write three commands (comandantes) in Spanish for what he may say. We would then do an art component of Che in which we would place our commands near our drawing or collage of him. The other component that was undertaken during this project was to briefly talk about Che Guevara.
At the end of this project, it turned out really well for me as an individual since my drawing of Che was rather different since it was in the art style of Manga, which is a Japanese artist style. For the Che speech, that aspect also went well for me due to the effort I managed to put into it. What I learned in the project was several things about Che: he was a doctor as well as the things he did to the individuals who disagreed with him and his views which to me is rather questionable because why is a man who had killed people for disagreeing with him seen as a great person and even placed on T-shirts? |

la casa en manGo street
The purpose of this project was to gain better knowledge of the preterite and future tenses while reading a short story called "La Casa en Mango Street" which translates to The House on Mango Street. This project started with the reading of this short story. As soon as we had read the first chapter, we were given a mini assignment to draw the characters hair styles described in the story. At the end of the story, we would then write short stories of our own which spanned to two chapters.

Reflection |
For this project, the summary of it was to have a famous person of Spanish descent, and to pose as them in the final exhibition. However, getting to the final exhibition was a very somewhat lengthy process. The process went from choosing our famous person to drafting the slideshow. OF course, these all underwent obvious revisions. As soon as the slideshow was polished up, we had to develop an introductory speech, which we had to introduce our person in the first person as if we were them. When the speech was developed and memorized, the exhibition had finally arrived.

On my end of this project, I can clearly say I had somewhat of a rough time. Although I was somewhat enticed by the concept of the project, I had trouble with actually putting it together as well, but I had managed to make it through the project. While going through this project, I had been able to better my understanding of the preterite tense, which had greatly benefitted my presentation and speech.

cuento de tu niÑez projecto
Cuento Un Las Vegas
Entonces Los Jabbawockeez llegaron y bailaron. Ellos eran muy buenos y muy pasionados. El espetáculo contó un cuento. El espetáculo duró una hora y media. Al fin del espetáculo, fuimos al hotel. |
reflectionfor this short project, we had to choose an event in our life and write about it while using the past tense; from which we revised them so they could look and sound better. When we had finished the final draft of our event, we printed it. After the main work was done, we needed to find a photo or draw a picture that represents our event. A short synopsis of my event was that earlier this year, I had gone to Las Vegas with my family and saw the Jabbawockeez at the Luxor Hotel.
When it comes to using the past tense in Spanish, expressing myself is actually much easier since I'd be saying something like "I went to Vegas" rather than "I go to Vegas." The past tense really makes my life easier in Spanish. The preterite and imperfect tenses helped me during this project by essentially making the words flow together smoothly. Which without it, the whole telling of this event would be choppy and to me would just sound wrong. |

project DescrIption/reflectionFor this project, we had to write a short story on a person or character about a day in their life. As soon as we had revised the story, we would do an art piece for it, whether it be a book, an oral telling or a video.
I chose to make a video in which I used an character from an Anime called Attack on Titan, in the video I dubbed in Spanish which went along with the short story I had written. We had also used reflexive verbs which to me seemed to help,as in the video (with the immense editing I put into it). When it's said "I kill," in Spanish of course made the sentences for reflexive. |
por que español statement
The reason I take Spanish at Animas High School is not only to have another language up my sleeve, but at Animas, it is required to have completed two years of Spanish at Animas in order to graduate.
